Ready for this…
Wake up at 4am for our flight, get in the car, drive to get Nonna, drive to the car place, get to the airport…
My passport was expired by a month. Nobody thought to check. Mom almost fainted (like on the floor crouched down), Nonna is crying, Paul is in shock, my dad is stoic as always. After trying to figure out where to go to fix it my mom, brother, and Nonna all got on the plane to Mexico while my dad and I stayed behind.
THENwe get a ride to the car place, drive back to Centerport, get my birth certificate, drive to the train station, get on the LIRR, get to NYC, get on the subway, go to the NY Consulate building downtown, wait for 2 hours, get pictures taken, walked around while we waited another 2 hours, got the passport, left, for on the subway, took the LIRR home, went to dinner.
We paid a ridiculous sum of money to change our flight to tomorrow, the whole car fiasco, get a rush passport, train tickets, food, ect.
Sucks that half my family is there and we’re not but at least I’ll be leaving tomorrow. I feel like it’s all my fault even though I know it isn’t..
